Five US soldiers killed in helicopter crash in Afghanistan

At least five US soldiers were killed and seven others injured when a US military helicopter crashed in Afghanistan near a military base, the US Central Command said.

At least five US soldiers were killed and seven others injured when a US military helicopter crashed in Afghanistan near a military base, the US Central Command said.

"The cause of the crash is unknown and under military investigation," the Central Command, based in Tampa, Florida, saidin a statement. The helicopter crashed near the military base in Bagram.

The statement said the US troops aboard the helicopter were supporting a military mission dubbed Operation Mountain Resolve.
