China's Yunnan Province and Vietnam,in an agreement signed here Monday, agreed to boost multi-faceted cooperation, especially in the fields of trade and tourism.

The agreement was reached by Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister Vu Khoan and visiting Secretary of the Yunnan Provincial Committeeof the Communist Party of China, Bai Enpei, on Monday.

While meeting with Bai Enpei, Khoan said Vietnam is creating upgrading infrastructure in localities adjacent to Yunann to facilitate transport. The country is upgrading roads from its northern Lao Cai Province to other places, and building the Cai Lan Seaport in Quang Ninh Province.

To further tap trade and tourism potentials of Yunnan, Vietnam has established its general consulate in the province, he noted.

On its part, Yunnan will promote the cooperation with Vietnamese localities in every field, Bai Enpei said, adding that the province will make greater efforts in upgrading its roads and railways to boost tourism, and import more Vietnamese seafood.

Yunnan would like to exploit aluminum bauxite in Vietnam's central highlands province of Lam Dong, he noted.
