The Beijing-based China Military Science Society (CMSS) has set up a branch for the study of international military affairs to meet the demands for research and education on the development of international military undertakings.

It marks the beginning of a new stage of the country's research on international military issues, according to official sources.

The newly-founded sub-society is comprised of experts and scholars from China's research institutions and academies studying the issues of international military security and foreign armies.

The academic body will try to boost international cooperation on military studies and the development of military science in the world.

Previously, the CMSS had set up sub-societies on battles and tactics, military command, political work, and air force, respectively. Currently, the establishment of another sub-society, on strategy, is being prepared.
