China, Cambodia sign agreements on economic, technical cooperation

Chinese Ambassador to Cambodia Ning Fukui, on behalf of the Chinese government, signed two agreements with the royal government of Cambodia on economic and technical cooperation on Thursday.

Chinese Ambassador to Cambodia Ning Fukui, on behalf of the Chinese government, signed two agreements with the royal government of Cambodia on economic and technical cooperation on Thursday.

The signing ceremony was held at the Foreign Ministry under the presidency of Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen.

Under the first agreement, China will grant of RMB 50 million yuan (6.1 million US dollars) to the Cambodian government. This assistance gratis will be handed to the Cambodian Foreign Ministryfor general use by the Cambodian government, according to a news release from Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, China will provide RMB 200 million yuan (24.4 million US dollars) in interest-free loan for the rehabilitation project of the National Road No. 7 from Kratie province to the Cambodia-Laos border.

Cambodian Foreign Minister Hor Namhong said the royal government of Cambodia was very pleased to receive the assistance and thanked the Chinese government for its assistance during various periods.
