China firmly supports Kuwait to safeguard independence: Premier Wen

Premier Wen Jiabao said in Beijing Monday that China understands the proper concerns of Kuwait on its national security, and firmly supports Kuwait to safeguard its national independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Premier Wen Jiabao said in Beijing Monday that China understands the proper concerns of Kuwait on its national security, and firmly supports Kuwait to safeguard its national independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Wen told visiting Kuwaiti Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Jaber Mubarak that China has always attached great importance to its relations with Kuwait, and China wishes to enhance cooperation with Kuwait in different areas.

China and Kuwait established full diplomatic relations in 1971.China thanks Kuwait for its upholding of the one-China policy, Wen said.

Mubarak said Kuwait put its relations with China as a priority in its foreign relations. He said Kuwait hopes to increase exchange and cooperation with China in military and other areas.

Also on Monday, Wen met with Foreign Minister of Argentina Rafael Bielsa and they exchanged views on bilateral relations and other issues of mutual concern.
