State councilor meets Asian education forum initiators

Chinese State Councilor Chen Zhili met Friday with some foreign delegates attending the meeting of initiators of the education forum for Asia.

Chinese State Councilor Chen Zhili met Friday with some foreign delegates attending the meeting of initiators of the education forum for Asia.

The foreign delegates include former Philippine President FidelRamos and former New Zealand Prime Minister Jenny Shipley.

Chen said that China has attached importance to its relations with Asian countries, and the two sides have maintained sound cooperation on education.

She voiced the hope that the education forum for Asia would become a bridge among Asian countries to promote educational cooperation and achieve common prosperity.

The meeting was cosponsored by the Boao Forum for Asia, the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, and the China Scholarship Council, and supported by the Beijing city government.
