3 men charged with counterfeit coins offenses in HK

Hong Kong police Saturday charged three men, aged between 52 and 55, with counterfeit coins offenses, according to a government press release.

Hong Kong police Saturday charged three men, aged between 52 and 55, with counterfeit coins offenses, according to a government press release.

The three men were among the 14 persons arrested on Dec. 4 in Tsuen Wan, where a fake 10-HK-dollar coin factory was smashed and tens of thousands of fake coins netted.

A 52-year-old man was charged with custody of counterfeit coins, passing counterfeit coins and conspiracy to counterfeiting coins.

A 55-year-old man was charged with passing counterfeit coins and custody of counterfeiting materials and implements.

The other 55-year-old man was charged with custody of counterfeit coins and passing counterfeit coins.

They will appear in Tsuen Wan Magistrates' Courts on Dec. 8.

The remaining 11 persons were released on bail ranging from 1,000 HK dollars (128.2 US dollars) to 10,000 HK dollars (1,282 US dollars). They were required to report back on Dec. 28.
