Young Chinese duo sunk at the ITTF Pro Tour Finals

China's Qiu Yike/Hao Shuai were beaten by Cheung Yuk/Leung Chu Yan of Hong Kong, China in the men's semifinals of the ITTF Pro Tour Finals on Saturday.

China's Qiu Yike/Hao Shuai were beaten by Cheung Yuk/Leung Chu Yan of Hong Kong, China in the men's semifinals of the ITTF Pro Tour Finals on Saturday.

The Chinese duo lost to the 4th-ranked Cheung/Leung 11-4, 11-8,15-17, 7-11, 11-7, 3-11, 6-11.

"It was so close, we almost made it," said Hao. "We are young and lack of experience."

Leading 2-0 and cheered by the crowd, the Chinese looked unstoppable, while the Hong Kong veterans staged a spirited comeback to pull it even at 2-2.

Hao and Qiu restored their lead at 3-2, but their confidence was shaken after the Hong Kong players leveled the score again at 3-3.

"I hope we can make it next time," said Qiu Yike. "It just takes time," he added.
