The new Chinese combination of Ma Lin and Chen Qi trounced Cheung Yuk and Leung Chu Yan from Hong Kong, China 4-0 to win the men's doubles final at the ITTF Pro Tour finals on Saturday.

Cheng and Leung, who shut out Chinese Hao Shuai and Qi Yike in a seven-set marathon early in the day, failed to find themselves while coming under ferocious attacks, losing 11-8, 11-6, 11-8, 11-8.

World's top-ranked Ma, a first round victim to Sweden's Jens Lundqvist, might have some consolation from the doubles victory, which gave the winners 10,000 US dollars each.

"I have been spending a lot of time on doubles, that was a reason that I lost in singles," said Ma Lin.

With a sight on the Olympic Games, Ma has been trying his doubles partner.

Ma paired up with Chen to win in South Korea, China and Japan earlier in the year and combined with Wang Hao to win the Danish Open and Swedish Open last month.
