Inter-bank trading hits 15.6 trillion yuan

Inter-bank trading totaled 15.6 trillion yuan (some 1.88 trillion US dollars) in China from January to November this year, according to information from the National Inter-Bank Trading Center.

Inter-bank trading totaled 15.6 trillion yuan (some 1.88 trillion US dollars) in China from January to November this year, according to information from the National Inter-Bank Trading Center.

In the past month alone, the inter-bank borrowing and lending reached 1.42 trillion yuan (about 171.1 billion US dollars), up some 40 percent from the same period last year.

In November, short-term borrowing and lending totaled 184.2 billion yuan, bonds repurchases were worth 975.8 billion yuan, and spot trading of bonds was 259.6 billion yuan, up by 73 percent, 9 percent, and almost ten times the figure for November last year, respectively.

During the same period, "China bills" net, with 883 members by last month, did 69.58 billion yuan in transactions online.
