Macao names winners for medals of honors
The Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR) government will confer medals of honors and achievements to a total of 44 people and entities for their outstanding contributions to various realms of the society at the beginning of the next year.
The Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR) government will confer medals of honors and achievements to a total of 44 people and entities for their outstanding contributions to various realms of the society at the beginning of the next year.
The Information Office of the Macao SAR government released a list of the award owners. Among them were Susana Chou, chairman ofthe Macao Legislative Council and Ng Fok, a member of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference National Committee in the Macao SAR.
The Macao SAR government confers medals of honors every year, which are classified into to one Grand Lotus medal, one Golden Lotus medal, three Silver Lotus medals as well as medals of achievements for professional elite, organizations or government departments.
The Fire Brigade and the Health Service won medals of bravery for their achievements in putting out Macao's biggest fire in ten years and the victory in the battle against severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) this year.
The medals will be presented by Chief Executive Edmund Ho Hau Wah to the winners, who helped promote the image and reputation ofMacao or have devoted themselves in their respective spheres to the development of the SAR, such as industry and commerce, tourism,education, culture, philanthropy and sports.
