A group of large dinosaur fossils about 160 million years old were discovered in Yuanmou county of Southwest China's Yunnan province.

The fossils were discovered buried one to two meters deep in a valley near Jiangyi village, about 100 kilometers north of Yuanmou county seat.

"Those fossils are the remains of dinosaurs living in the middle of the Jurassic period," said Dong Zhiming, a research fellow with the Institute of Vertebrate Paleontology and Paleo-anthropology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.

Dong said the dinosaurs were over 20 meters tall with a long neck and a huge body.
