Involved parties are reaching an agreement that the draft of a joint statement is not a precondition for the new round of nuclear talks, said a South Korean senior official on Tuesday .

During a regular briefing, South Korean Foreign Minister said the second round of six-party nuclear talks will be able to produce more substantial outcome than the first one even without agreement on the draft.

After the first round six-party nuclear talks in Beijing attended by China, the United States, the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), Russia, South Korea and Japan, the concerning parties held many consultations to make the new round of such talks come as soon as possible.

But, it seemed that the six nations could not narrow their differences over the content of the draft of the joint statement of the proposed new round nuclear talks in a short time.

The DPRK recently expressed its willingness to attend the second round nuclear talks in early next year.
