Vietnam reaffirms 'One China' stance

Vietnam has consistently adhered to the "one China" principle, Vietnam News quoted Le Dung, the Vietnamese Foreign Ministry spokesperson, as saying on Wednesday.

Vietnam has consistently adhered to the "one China" principle, Vietnam News quoted Le Dung, the Vietnamese Foreign Ministry spokesperson, as saying on Wednesday.

Vietnam's standpoint on issues relating to Chinese Taiwan remains unchanged, he noted while answering a question on Vietnam's reaction to news about the island's plan to hold a referendum.

"Vietnam has only maintained a traditional economic and commercial relationship on a non-governmental basis with Chinese Taiwan," the spokesman stressed.
