Coins to be issued to mark the New Year
China will issue 10 million coins on Jan. 6th, 2004, to mark the New Year, the central bank announced Tuesday.

China will issue 10 million coins on Jan. 6th, 2004, to mark the New Year, the central bank announced Tuesday.
An official with the
People's Bank of China
said one side of the coin had the words for the bank, one yuan and 2004 while the other side featured Chinese children in traditional gowns flying kites.
The coin, minted in a brass alloy, has a face value of one yuan(0.12 US dollars), and will go into general circulation.
