British sports stars wins queen's awards

British sports personalities topped the traditional New Year Honors list put out by Buckingham Palace on Wednesday, Dec. 31.

British sports personalities topped the traditional New Year Honors list put out by Buckingham Palace on Wednesday.

The entire England rugby squad, which won the World Cup in Australia this year, received a mention, with coach Clive Woodward receiving knighthood.

Tennis player Tim Henman received an OBE and disabled boxer Michael Watson an MBE. Manager of the Celtic football club Martin O'Neill received an OBE.
