Sun Wen to become football journalist

Former Chinese women's football team striker Sun Wen is to be a football reporter for a local newspaper in Shanghai.

Former Chinese women's football team striker Sun Wen is to be a football reporter for a local newspaper in Shanghai.

Sun will join the newspaper's team after this year's Spring Festival. But she says she is still first and foremost an undergraduate at Shanghai's Fudan University.

The former ace-forward sent an article to the newspaper 9 years ago, provoking her interest in the media.

Sun hung up her boots after the Women Football World Cup last year and is now studying international relations.
