Chinese, US congressional politicians to meet every two years

The National People's Congress of China and the United States Senate agreed to meet on a regular basis to exchange information on legislation and other affairs.

The National People's Congress of China and the United States Senate agreed to meet on a regular basis to exchange information on legislation and other affairs.

The agreement was reached at a recent meeting in Hawaii between NPC Vice-chairman Sheng Huaren and US senators Ted Stevens and Daniel Inouye .

Under the agreement, congressional leaders from countries will visit each other's countries more often Two meetings will be held over the coming two years in Beijing and Washington but afterwards the meetings will be kept to one every two years.
