Burkina defense minister fired over involvement of coup attempt

Burkina Faso Defense Minister Kouame Lougue has been fired by President Blaise Compaore over the allegation of his involvement of a coup attempt.

Burkina Faso Defense Minister Kouame Lougue has been fired by President Blaise Compaore over the allegation of his involvement of a coup attempt.

According to a report reaching here Sunday, Lougue has been replaced by Yero Boli, the head of presidential staff.

Earlier this month, the state prosecutor said Lougue had been questioned in connection with a coup attempt in Burkina Faso.
