New basketball rankings for China

Newly-crowned women's Asian Basketball Champions, China, have been ranked 9th in the world by the International Basketball Federation.

Newly-crowned women's Asian Basketball Champions, China, have been ranked 9th in the world by the International Basketball Federation.

Meanwhile, the Chinese men's national team was ranked 13th.

The United States tops the women's ranking, followed by Russia and Australia.

On the men's side, the former Yugoslavia sits on top of the ranking, followed by the United States and Lithuania.

China won the Asian Women's Championship on Monday with a 92-80 victory over hosts Japan, to complete their successful title defense.
