Gansu reports foreign trade increase

Northwest China's Gansu province achieved a foreign trade volume of 1.33 billion US dollars in 2003, a 51.3 percent rise over the previous year, statistics of the provincial customs showed.

Northwest China's Gansu province achieved a foreign trade volume of 1.33 billion US dollars in 2003,a 51.3 percent rise over the previous year, statistics of the provincial customs showed.

The growth, 11.4 percentage points higher than the national average, boosted the province, which is economically under-developed in comparison with eastern coastal regions, to third place in foreign trade increase.

Statistics also showed that the Republic of Korea and Japan were two major trade partners of the province last year.
