S.Korean air jet bogs down after landing at Japanese airport

A South Korean air jet got bogged down in snow on Jan. 23 after landing during a blizzard at Aomori Airport in northeastern Japan, but no one was injured, according to an official of the Korea Air Line (KAL), South Korean largest airline operator.

When the Boeing 737 plane of the KAL was coasting to the gate after landing, its front wheels became stuck in snow. Then, AomoriAirport authorities towed the plane of the rest way to the gate, the South Korean Yonhap News Agency quoted the official as saying.

All of the 119 passengers and eight crew members aboard the plane disembarked safely. The airport reportedly reopened the runway following the incident.

The air jet departed from Incheon International Airport of South Korea, some 50 kilometers west to Seoul, earlier in the day.

The Aomori Airport authorities and Aomori prefectural police are looking into what exactly caused the incident, said Yonhap.
