Hotel fire kills seven in central China province

A fire in a hotel in central China's Henan Province Friday morning killed seven people and injured 11, local police said Friday.

A fire in a hotel in central China's Henan Province Friday morning killed seven people and injured 11, local police said Friday.

The fire was reported at 3:57 a.m. in the Shensen Hotel, a privately owned hotel in Luoyang City. The first group of 22 firefighters rushed to the site in about two minutes. The blaze was extinguished at 4:20 a.m.

Police said some people were injured while jumping out of the building. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
