DaimlerChrysler welcomed to set up R&D center in China

Liu Qi, secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Beijing Municipal Committee said in Beijing on February 6 that he hoped DaimlerChrysler could establish research, development and design centers in China.

Liu Qi, secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Beijing Municipal Committee said in Beijing on February 6 that he hoped DaimlerChrysler could establish research, development and design centers in China.

Liu made the remark during his meeting with Juergen Schrempp, chairman of the German auto giant on February 6. He also expressed appreciation for DaimlerChrysler's long-term strategy in China and hope the auto giant could help China train qualified auto technicians.

Schrempp pledged that DaimlerChrysler would further strengthen the cooperation with Chinese enterprises in the automobile sector.
