Trade between China and
Japan
has hit record highs in 2003 for the fifth consecutive year, reaching more than 132 billion US dollars.
A report from Japan's External Trade Organization shows the country's exports to China grew by 43 percent and reached 57 billion US dollars, while imports increased 22 percent to 75 billion US.
Japanese exports to China were fuelled by strong demands across a variety of industries including semiconductors, communications equipment as well as auto parts and automobiles.
The higher growth of exports put Japan's annual trade deficit with China at nearly 4 billion US dollars less than a year earlier.
