First Toyota Corolla rolls off production line in China

The first Toyota Corolla car rolled off the Chinese production line at a factory in Tianjin on Monday.

The first Toyota Corolla car rolled off the Chinese production line at a factory in Tianjin on Monday.

The Corolla is the second Toyota model to be produced by Tianjin FAW Toyota Motor Co. Ltd., a Sino-Japanese joint venture, after the Vios.

The Corolla will range in price from 187,000 yuan RMB (22,530 US dollars) to 203,000 yuan.

The output is set around 40,000 for the year.

Orders for the Corolla, first produced in 1966, will be taken in early March.
