No new SARS cases reported on Chinese mainland, health ministry says

China's Ministry of Health said in Beijing on Feb. 24 that no cases of severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) were reported in the 24 hours from 10:00 a.m. Monday to 10:00 a.m. Tuesday on the Chinese mainland.

China's Ministry of Health said in Beijing on Feb. 24 that no cases of severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) were reported in the 24 hours from 10:00 a.m. Monday to 10:00 a.m. Tuesday on the Chinese mainland.

The ministry said the Chinese mainland has reported four SARS cases so far this year, all from the southern province of Guangdong.

The four patients, a 35-year-old businessman, a 32-year-old TV producer, a 20-year-old waitress and a 40-year-old doctor, had been discharged from hospital after recovery. No people in contact with the four were infected with SARS.
