Fourth annual information forum on Asia-Pacific cities scheduled

The Fourth Forum on Information Industry Development in Asia-Pacific Cities and the International Information Industry Development Expo will be held in Shanghai on May 20-22.

The Fourth Forum on Information Industry Development in Asia-Pacific Cities and the International Information Industry Development Expo will be held in Shanghai on May 20-22.

Over 800 representatives from international organizations, cities in the Asia-Pacific region and electronic companies will attend the forum, according to the Shanghai City Information Industry Development Commission, organizer of the forum.

The forum, launched in 2000 at the call of Shanghai, will be jointly held by a dozen partners, including the United Nations Development Program, the Shanghai Municipal Government, the Ministry of Information Industry, and the Commission of Science and Technology.

The forum is designed to step up development and cooperation in information among cities in the Asia-Pacific Region, and to narrow the economic gap among different cities.
