Japan reports another suspected case of mad cow

Japan agricultural ministry said Sunday a cow from a Hokkaido farm tested positive for mad cow disease, and it would be Japan's 11th case of the brain-wasting disease if confirmed.

Japan agricultural ministry said Sunday a cow from a Hokkaido farm tested positive for mad cow disease, and it would be Japan's 11th case of the brain-wasting disease if confirmed.

A ministry expert panel will review the test data at a meeting on Monday and decide whether to confirm the diagnosis.

According to the ministry, a national institute conducted a second test on the dead cow after a preliminary test by a Hokkaido institute came back positive on Friday.
