Two Costa Rican players join Chinese club Nanjing Yoyo

Costa Rican players Rodrigo Cordero and David Diach, both from 21-time national champions Club Sport Herediano, left here on Wednesday to join Chinese second division team Nanjing Yoyo.

Costa Rican players Rodrigo Cordero and David Diach, both from 21-time national champions Club Sport Herediano, left Wednesday to join Chinese second division team Nanjing Yoyo.

Reports said that midfielder Cordero, 27, and striker Diach, 29,will play for Nanjing for nine months.

Cordero, who had never played overseas, said the China trip is a precious chance for his career. "It's a chance I have long been waiting for. And I will take this chance to play my best," he said.

The two players will have medicals in China before signing their contracts with the Chinese club.

Herediano founded in 1921 are leading the Costa Rican first division league.
