S. Korean acting president Goh Kun holds first cabinet meeting

South Korea's interim leader Goh Kun held his first cabinet meeting as Acting President Monday morning. Goh urged government officials to do their part to ensure a fair and clean parliamentary election next month.

South Korea's interim leader Goh Kun held his first cabinet meeting as Acting President Monday morning. Goh urged government officials to do their part to ensure a fair and clean parliamentary election next month. He also asked related ministers to keep the public informed by giving them concrete and specific messages regarding the upcoming vote.

Following the meeting, Government and Home Affairs Minister Huh Sung-kwan and Justice Minister Kang Kum-sil issued a joint statement, saying any social disorder or illegal campaigning will strictly be dealt with according to law and principle.
