China's total consumer goods sales grows 10.5 percent

China's consumer goods market saw brisk sales in the first two months. Total consumer goods retail sales reached 878.08 billion Yuan - up 10.5 percent on a year-on-year basis.

China's consumer goods market saw brisk sales in the first two months. Total consumer goods retail sales reached 878.08 billion Yuan - up 10.5 percent on a year-on-year basis.

The monthly report issued by National Bureau of Statistics on Mar. 15 indicates the sales situation in the first two months. If classified according to localities urban consumer goods retail sales were 584.46 billion Yuan - up 12.1 percent year on year. Retail sales of counties and below were 293.62 billion Yuan - up 7.5 percent. If classified according to sale industries wholesale, retail and trade industries realized retail sales of 732.24 billion Yuan - up 10.1 percent year on year. Retail sales in catering industry reached 119.38 billion Yuan - up 15.6 percent. Retail sales in the other industries were 26.46 billion Yuan - up 1.4 percent.
