Vice premier stresses macro-control to ensure economic rise

Chinese Vice-Premier Huang Ju has called for effective measures in macro-economic control, especially in economic performance control, as an effort to ensuresteady and fast national economic growth.

Chinese Vice-Premier Huang Ju has called for effective measures in macro-economic control, especially in economic performance control, as an effort to ensuresteady and fast national economic growth.

From March 25-28 in central-south China's Hunan province, Huangundertook investigation and research work on reforms pursued by state-run enterprises and problems in industrial and transport sectors by visiting local enterprises.

Huang, also a member of the Standing Committee of the PoliticalBureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), said the country has maintained good economic development, with increased industrial output, rises in energy and raw materials supply, and remarkable increases in passenger and cargo transport capacity.

But due to overheating of some industries, he said, demand for coal, power and petroleum exceeded supply, and prices of some raw materials are also rising.

Huang centered the efforts in economic performance control on ensuring supplies of coal, electricity and petroleum by accelerating the construction of large coal fields and power grids,exploration of oil resources, and extension of key transport links.
