India issues report on security index of world countries
India recently published a report assessing security index of world countries. Based on comprehensive analysis in terms of national defense capacity, GDP, cultural development and R&D level, the report gives a ranking of national security index--the United States, China, Japan, ROK, Sweden, Russia, Germany, India, France, Britain and Israel.

Based on comprehensive analysis in terms of national defense capacity, GDP, cultural development and R&D level, the report gives a ranking of national security index--the United States, China, Japan, the ROK, Sweden, Russia, Germany, India, France, Britain and Israel.
Adopting the assessment method of the RAND Corporation, the report took national resources, national performance and military strength into consideration. When assessing a country's national defense index, the report considers not only defense budget but also the staff size of armed forces.
The ranking regarding conventional troops is the United States, China, Russia, India, DPRK, Pakistan, Turkey, Iran, Japan, and France. While in defense budget the list is given as the United States, Russia, China, Japan, Britain, France, Germany, Saudi Arabia and Italy.
The report put the United States, China and India in the first group, followed by Russia, the ROK, Pakistan, Turkey, Iran, Vietnam and Egypt.
