Foreigners & Chinese alike may apply for 'China Environment Ambassador'

Regulations on China's top honorary title in the environment protection area - "China Environment Ambassador" have been released recently. China's State Environmental Protection Administration circulated a notice with regard to the regulations on the title conferment of "Environment Ambassador", which explains in detail the requirements and selection procedures on the conferment of China Environment Ambassador.

Regulations on China's top honorary title in the environment protection area - "China Environment Ambassador" have been released recently. China's State Environmental Protection Administration circulated a notice with regard to the regulations on the title conferment of "Environment Ambassador", which explains in detail the requirements and selection procedures on the conferment of China Environment Ambassador.

As laid down in the notice the selection of China Environment Ambassador is not confined to nationality, race, age and trade. Whoever shares strong social responsibility and environmental awareness, is enthusiastic about environment protection, actively supports, participates in and promotes environment protection activities and enjoys certain social reputation and good public image as well as be willing to actively carry out relevant obligations and responsibilities can be a candidate. The duty of China Environment Ambassador is to spread environment protection knowledge among the public, set an example to others and build up a positive, healthy and enlightened image. As "China Environment Ambassador" he reports public opinions and suggestions on environment protection to the relevant departments and takes part in related social activities in China and promotes international cultural exchange.

China Environment Ambassador is selected every two years. The objective is to arouse in the public active participation in environment protection.
