China business climate reports good momentum

China's business climate index reached 135.9 points in the first quarter of 2004, up 4.7 percentage points year-on-year, a national business climate surveyshows.

China's business climate index reached 135.9 points in the first quarter of 2004, up 4.7 percentage points year-on-year, a national business climate surveyshows.

This basically remains the same as the fourth quarter of 2003 and indicates China's business has maintained good momentum for sustained and rapid development since the second half of last year,according to a report released Monday by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS).

Major classified business climate indices all report a higher level than the same period of last year, NBS says.
