China's largest export commodity fair expects record number of participants

The 95th China (Guangzhou) Export Commodities Fair, scheduled for April 15-30 this year, will attract about 300,000 domestic and overseas businessmen to Guangdong, an all-time high number since its establishment in 1957,organizers said.

The 95th China (Guangzhou) Export Commodities Fair, scheduled for April 15-30 this year, will attract about 300,000 domestic and overseas businessmen to Guangdong, an all-time high number since its establishment in 1957,organizers said.

Strong market demands and participants' enthusiasm had also pushed the Guangzhou trade fair to expand its exhibition scale with its exhibition booths increasing to about 27,500, 50 percent more than the previous one, according to the organizing committee.

Business deals struck at every China Guangzhou export commodities fair account for one-third of the country's total national volume of exports via general trade each year. The fair is of great importance for China to increase exports.

The number of foreign traders and business delegations attending the fair has increased by nearly 20 percent from that in2002 when the record was set, according to statistics from major traveling agencies in Guangzhou, capital of southern China's Guangdong Province.

The biannual fair will highlight electronics, electrical appliances, textiles and garments, machinery, foodstuffs and medicine, from April 15 - 20 and change to office and outdoor articles, home furnishing, gifts, decorations knitwear, horticulture, carvings, and jewelry from April 25 to 30.
