China soccer to launch trip drill in Europe

Dutchman Ari Haan, head coach of the Chinese football team, is to take a 23-player squad to Europe to play a series of warm-ups games.

Dutchman Ari Haan, head coach of the Chinese football team, is to take a 23-player squad to Europe to play a series of warm-ups games.

Haan will pay special attention to improvement of the team's tactics for the next phase of the 2006 World Cup qualifier.

The Chinese side plans to take on Spanish supremos, Barcelona, and Hungary and Andorra's national teams in the schedule.

Ari Haan's team is leading the group at the World Cup qualifying event with two one-nil wins over Kuwait and Hong Kong.

China's next group game will come on June 9th against Malaysia.
