Hainan to hold fair on new hybrid rice varieties

China will hold a national fair on new hybrid rice varieties in Sanya city on the country's southern tip of Hainan island province from Wednesday through to Friday.

China will hold a national fair on new hybrid rice varieties in Sanya city on the country's southern tip of Hainan island province from Wednesday through to Friday.

The fair will be jointly held by a number of organizations including the Hainan Center for Research and Development of HybridRice and Genetically Modified Plants with the State High-Tech 863 Program, the China Rice Institute, and the State Hybrid Rice Engineering Technology Research Center.

The event is designed to advance development in the technologies to cultivate new hybrid rice strains, promote progress in rice industries and promote exchange of information and technical cooperation.
