More and more private enterprises are showing up for the 95th China (Guangzhou) Export Commodities Fair, which will open Thursday, but state-owned enterprises still dominate at the country's largest export fair.
Statistics from the organizing committee show 3,270 private enterprises have registered to attend the Guangzhou fair, an increase of 76.8 percent year on year.
Private enterprises participating in the fair make up 26.8 percent of the total enterprises on display at the fair.
Export and import trade volume by private enterprises in the first quarter of this year already took up one tenth of China's total, according to latest statistics from the General Administration of Customs.
Business deals struck at every China Guangzhou export commodities fair account for one third of the country's total volume of general trade exports each year. The fair is of great importance for China to increase exports.
Strong market demand and participants' enthusiasm have also pushed the Guangzhou trade fair to expand its exhibition scale with its exhibition booths increasing to about 27,500, 50 percent up from the previous fair, according to the organizing committee.
