Mexico, China vow to boost relations in various fields

The Mexican government, regarding the development of the strategic partnership with China as a significant task, has attached great importance to relations between the two countries, Vice Foreign Minister Lourdes Aranda said in Mexico City on Thursday.

Mexico and China, as two developing countries, have enjoyed smooth development of their relations in various fields, continuous friendly exchanges and broad prospects in cooperation, Aranda said when meeting with a delegation led by Cai Wu, deputy head of the International Department of the Chinese Communist Party (CPC) Central Committee.

She added that Mexico, while boosting political and economic relations with China, is hoping to broaden their cooperation in science and technology.

The vice minister reiterated her government's adherence to the one-China policy. She also spoke highly of the progress made in China in protecting human rights, saying countries in the world should improve and solve the issue gradually by themselves.

Praising China's achievements in recent years, Aranda indicatedthat China's experience in development is of great significance.

On the international affairs, she said the two countries have shared similar positions and common goals, expressing her belief that Mexico, with support from China, would promote cooperation with Asia-Pacific countries and regions.

Cai said the political and economic cooperation between China and Mexico would contribute to a multipolar and peaceful world. Inaddition, he reviewed China's political, economic and social development in the past 10 years.

The two sides also discussed other issues of common concerns.

The CPC delegation arrived here for a visit on Wednesday at theinvitation of the National Action Party of Mexico.
