Fatah movement condemns Bush remarks supporting Sharon

The Fatah movement, the biggest Palestinian movement chaired by Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat, condemned on Friday the remarks by US President George W. Bush who supported the views of Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon in Washington on Wednesday.

The movement said in a leaflet that the statements of President Bush ¡°is a violation of the declared US position concerning the final status issues and contradicts with the US guarantees had been previously given to the Palestinians.¡±

¡°US President violated the international resolutions of the United Nations and the Security Council,¡± said the leaflet.

It added that ¡°the US guarantees given to Israel are similar to Belford declarations that gave the rights for the Jews to have their state on the Palestinian lands,¡± Fatah said.
