David Copperfield arrived in Beijing on Sunday well before the first performance of his April 20th to 25th China tour.

The illusionist appeared at a news conference to promote his upcoming Tuesday night spectacle. But the American magic-man did not jump on the table as he did last year to show his superior conjuring tricks, and instead posed calmly for photographs.

The magician's upcoming performance is said to be more exciting than last year's, and will include flying and lasers.

Copperfield's shows often combine beauty and magic. And, to the surprise of many fans, the upcoming performance may include renowned Chinese actress Gong Li as a special guest.

Copperfield will also travel to Hangzhou, Nanjing, Shanghai and Changsha.
