The Administration also requires that central and local TV stations televise produce ample cartoons to meet children's demands, and is authorizing Beijing, Shanghai and Hunan to launch cartoon channels via satellite.

The regulation came after requests from many Chinese parents, who hope the government could create a better and healthy environment for the minors as there has been a tendency in domestic TV productions to be more violent.
