At least three people have been killed and 26 others injured when a bus carrying reservists fell into a ravine in eastern South Korea, reported South Korean Yonhap News Agency on April 20.

The bus, which was transporting reserve troops from Seoul, was on its way to a military training camp in Inje in the mountainous Gangwon Province, Yonhap quoted police as saying.

The accident took place at around 10:00 a.m. (0100 GMT) Monday.

The three killed were identified as bus driver Seo Jeong-no, 61,and two reservists, Kim Dae-sung, 25, and Lee bong-yeol, 26, said the police.

The cause of the accident is under investigation, the police said.

South Korean men, who have mandatory military service of 24 to 28 months, must undergo three days of annual on-base reservist training for seven years after their discharge from the military.
