Taiyuan University of Technology (TUT) won a home game 87-56 over China University of Mining and Technology (CUMT) to make the last four of the Chinese University Basketball Association (CUBA) women's league Taiyuan on Thursday.
CUMT had a boosting start with four straight three-pointers fora 12-0 lead before TUT made a pair of 8-0 runs to overtake the lead 30-12 in the first quarter.
Through free throws, CUMT managed to cut the deficit to 10 oncein the second quarter before TUT extended their lead 45-27 at halfbreak.
Against a full-court defense, TUT played their fast attacks in the second half to further widen the gap to 30 points.
"After many CUMT players retired, the new team is lack of experience," said Li Jihai, head coach of TUT women team, "But ourteam has indeed done a great job."
Other three teams made the semifinals are Wuhan University of Science and Technology (WUST), Qinghai Normal University (QNU) andTianjin University of Finance and Economics (TUFE).
The semi-finals will begin on Saturday with TUT facing WUST, and QNU challenging TUFE.
