font size

Renowned Hong Kong director Wong Kar-wai is making another appearance at the Cannes Film Festival in May with his latest film called 2046.

The movie, his first science fiction film to date, has been nominated in the Long Film Category in the festival, the only Chinese film with nominations.

2046 will hold its premiere at the festival with its cast members which include international stars Gong Li, Maggie Cheung and Zhang Ziyi.

In 2000, Wong's In The Mood For Love was also awarded Cannes accolades, including Best Actor for Tony Leung Chiu-wai and the Technical Prize.

The 2004 Cannes Film Festival features a strong line-up of young, less well known film makers sharing the spotlight with prominent directors, such as the Cohen Brothers.

Kill Bill's director Quentin Tarantino is to chair the panel of judges at the Festival, scheduled for May 12th to 23rd.
