Detectives from Israeli National Fraud Squad told a court on Sunday in Jerusalem that there are substantial suspicions that the family of Prime Minister Ariel Sharon received perks from Austrian tycoon Martin Schlaff, local newspaper Ha'aretz reported.
Police told the Tel Aviv Magistrate's Court that there were strong links between Schlaff and Sharon's son, Gilad.
During the hearing, police also asked the court for permission to view all documents currently being held at the office of Attorney Avi Altar who is believed to have advised Gilad Sharon on setting up straw companies in the Caribbean.
The court announced that it would hand down a decision on the papers at a later date, the report said.
