Explosion sets US vehicle ablaze in Baghdad
font size

A roadside bomb exploded Monday when a US military convoy was driving in central Baghdad, setting one military vehicle ablaze and causing American casualties, a witness said.

A US military vehicle was hit by a powerful explosion in the Waziriya district in central Baghdad, and a column of black smoke rose over the area, a witness at the scene told Xinhua.

US forces evacuated some casualties from the bombed vehicle, butthe witness couldn't give their exact number.

The US military has no immediate reports about the incident.

Insurgents in Iraq often use roadside bomb planted on the roads in their attacks on the US-led coalition forces.
