South Korea and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) made contact earlier in Seoul Monday on Seoul's plan to provide relief goods to the DPRK following a trainblast, South Korean Yonhap News Agency reported.
In a liaison officials' meeting at the truce village of Panmunjom, the two sides agreed to have detailed discussions on the relief goods at the DPRK's border city of Kaesong on Tuesday.
South Korean relief goods, including medical supplies, instant noodles, quilts, bottled water, now may be sent to the DPRK aboarda ship due to leave the western port of Incheon on Wednesday, Yonhap quoted sources as saying.
At least 154 people, including 76 primary school students, werekilled and more than 1,300 injured in the train explosion which occurred at Ryongchon railway station in the DPRK last Thursday.
Seoul has decided to provide 1 million US dollars worth of emergency relief goods to the DPRK. Civic and media organizations also have launched fund-raising campaigns to help the DPRK victims.
